Still ‘lost’ but loving it

So Lost came back last night after a three month layover. Excellent stuff. I stand behind my interest in this show – it’s easily the best thing on television right now and yes, that includes 24 (at least in my estimation.)lost.jpg

However, I’m left feeling slight dissatisfied – Lost is like a chocolate Malteaser – one is nice and all, but what you really want to do is cram 18 into your mouth in one go. My problem is that I’ve gotten used to watching epic Lost-athons – usually of eight to ten hour durations – because I’ve only seen it on DVD and so this is actually the first episode I’ve watched on TV and I’m just feeling mildly narked that I now have to wait a week to find out what happens.

I’ll definitely be tuning in though.

  1. I had the same problem with Lost. I saw the first season on DVD, and the second season I bought all at once on iTunes. Now suddenly, I’m watching the third season on TV, and the huge gap in between episodes drives me crazy.

  2. I agree that it’s some of the best writing on television at the moment, along with, say, ‘The Wire’ and ‘Entourage’ etc. but ‘Lost’ really has to pull it out of the bag as regards wrapping the series up. i know people are getting frustrated with the endless unexplained mysteries and fear, with due cause i think, that the writers will end the programme with a big budget film, which will spoil all that’s gone before.

  3. I think I’m more tolerant of the long drawn out mystery thing, because I haven’t been watching it for three years, waiting a week between revelations – Like Patrick, I watched it all in one go.

I think so far it’s been very well handled, and I’m perfectly happy to watch along for as long as they want to make them, with the caveat that I think one missed episode again will probably put me off until the next box set comes along.

A film would be neat though.
